Haul

Because I've got lots of deadlines coming up I've been treating myself to a few new things. I'm sorry about the lighting and quality of these photos my halls really do not have the best lighting!

Beauty...

There's been a lot of hype surrounding these in the blogging community so I had to try one out. I absolutely love this colour and it's almost an exact dupe for a limited edition Nail's Inc polish I've almost run out, of which is great. The formulation of these is definitely worth all the fuss, this really does apply like a much more expensive product. For only £3.99 these are a really bargin and I'll probably end up picking up more colours.

I've always really liked Toni and Guy products (and salons actually) and I think there fairly recent re brand has been pretty successful. I've been really impressed with these products they've definitely improved the condition of my hair and made it much softer. I'm pretty sure they help speed up the time it takes to dry too, which can only be a good thing since I have SO MUCH hair.

I've been umming and arring about buying this cult classic for a while now. I've heard so many good things about it but it is very expensive. However after trying out a sample I couldn't resist putting it off any longer. This is honestly the absolute best foundation I've ever tried by a long way. It says on all day  and gives the most incredible coverage. All of the Estee Lauder MUAs I've encountered have been lovely and really happy to spend time finding your perfect shade (mine is cool bone). The only downside is you do have to spend a bot more time removing it in the evening as none of it comes off during the day. It's also a bit of effort to clean off your foundation brush.

Estee Lauder Mascara and Concealer (Gift with purchase)
I got this for free when I bought the foundation which is amazing since both of these products full size arearounf £20. I really like both of these products and I'm very tempted to got and buy them (damn you Estee Lauder).
The mascara gives your eyelashes both volume and length. It's really bulidable without clumping wich is great for me as I love thick mascara.
The concealer is very similar to the foundation. This particular shade is slightly too warm toned for my face however this means it works really nicely under my eyes as the slightly more salmon tomes cancel out dark circles.

Fashion..

I picked these up at the Lush Event, and I think they're be really cute for summer.

I've wanted a midi skirt for ages as I've seen loads of people styling them in really cool ways. I was a bit worried that it's be unflattering on me as I'm quite short (5'3) however I really really love it and I've got lots of compliment went I wear it. I can't believe this was only £8!
Also boohoos delivery for this particular item was incredible, it literally came the next day, I'll definitely be ordering from them again.

Zara Crop Top
This is very different to something I'd usually wear, but I really liked it when I saw it on the website I'm loving crop tops at the moment. I think it'll look really nice with my new midi skirt or with denim shorts on the beach or something.

Topshop Blouse

I mentioned a white Topshop blouse I really liked in my White Shirts post. However I decided I liked this one even more. This is totally my style and a really versatile piece.

Music Notes- Spring Playlist

This is a really different post for me but I thought I'd be cool to share some of the music I've been enjoying lately.

  1. The Lumineers- When I was in New York Ho Hey was playing in literally every shop so when I got back I listened to the album properly and I really love it. Stubborn Love and Flowers in Your Hair are my favourites.
  2. Two Door Cinema Club- Beacon came out a while ago but I only properly listened to it recently, it's no surprise I really like this. I think TDCC are ace, I saw them at Leeds fest and they were amazing. I think Sun is my favourite from this.
  3. Foals- Foals are probably one of my all time favourite bands, Holy Fire is sooo good. I love all the songs on it.
  4. Bastille- I'm really loving this album, their cover of The Rhythm is a Dancer is cool too.
  5. Passion Pit- I've been listening to this album non stop since summer. Its so good! Before Gossamer I only really knew Passion Pit for Sleepyhead, but I've since I've really got into the whole of Manners too. I really love Take A Walk but to be honest all of  the songs are ace.
  6. Alt-J- To be honest I wasn't a huge Alt-J fan a first. However they've really grown on me and I've been listening to An Awesome Wave loads recently.
  7. The XX- I've been a huge fan of The XX for ages. I was so excited for their second album, I always listen to this while I'm writing essays haha. Angels is such a beautiful song.
I also absolutly LOVE Wraith by Peace and Same Love by Macklemore

What music have you all been listening to lately? Have you got any bands you'd recommend checking out? xx

Lush Clothes Swap

On Wednesday evening me and my friend Florence went down to the Nottingham Lush Store for a clothes swap. It was a really lovely event and the best part was it raised over £70 for charity.
For those of you that don't know, a clothes swap is basically an event where people take their unwanted clothes and trade the for something they like, that someone else has brought. I think it's such a great idea especially since I'm a student, who really shouldn't spend half as much as I do on clothes, and the fact that I don't actually wear half of my wardrobe.
There was a one pound donation to Emmanuel House which is a really fantastic charity that helps support the vulnerable and homeless. You can read more about the fantastic work they do here.
Here's some photos from the event...

Top Three White Shirts

White always makes a come back in summer and the classic white shirt is a piece everyone should have  their wardrobes. These are my top three picks for this seasons white shirts.

  1. Roberto Cavali- This white leather lace cut out shirt is so cool. It's photographed here in Maire Claire.
  2. TopShop- This is the most affordable shirt I picked out. I'm very tempted to pick this up, I love white lace.
  3. The Kooples- I's really really like a short from The Kooples. They have the most gorgeous, minimal designs like think shirt here.

Nottingham Bloggers Meetup

Last Saturday I went to a bloggers meet up in Nottingham. It was my first event like this so I was a bit nervous but I had a really great time and I met lots of really lovely bloggers. We spent the day shopping  which was great, although sadly I didn't get too many photos.

SaadiyaGavinaMichayla (All three of which also run TrendTV) and Rebekah

Part of the day involved an event at the Keihl's store. I was really excited because, as you guys know, I'm obsessed with Kiehl's and I had a fantastic time at their last event. At the store we had champagne  and cupcakes. I also had a skin consultation where I was recommend some really great products which I'm sure will be appearing in a haul soon!

My Kiehl's Group :) Taken by Sophia, who is an absolute star for arranging the meetup!

Benefit Peek-a-Bright-Eyes Review

One of the first high end products I ever bought was Benefits Big Beautiful Eyes Palette, and I've always loved that for everyday eye looks. I was really excited when early last year they released this, Peek-a-Bright Eyes which is fairly similar. I love these little palettes as they're a perfect size for travelling and you want all your eye products in one place. The packaging is also adorable. Peek-a-Bright eyes contains three eyeshadows, a base shadow, contour shadow and highlight and Eye Bright. There's also some brushes included but I used my Sigma Brushes (which you can read more about here) . As you can see it creates a really natural look which I really like. I paired the products with MACs Blacktrack fluid line gel eyeliner and the Soap & Glory Thick and Fast mascara. Overall I'd really recommend this palette although it's pretty pricey at £24.50, it's definitely worth it. The shadows are soft, velvety and really easy to apply. And eye-bright is a really subtle highlight, which is great when you want a really natural look. My Big Beautiful Eyes one lasted me ages so I imagine this one will too.
